Dry Dock Oyster Bar in San Antonio

UPDATE: We went back this week for another try. What a difference! Servers were very attentive and the service was excellent. The boiled and fried shrimp were awesome and the beer was nice and cold!Original review: Horrible service! Three of us went there yesterday for all you can eat. No seating in the bar area since it was packed so we sat in the back area. A couple were already sitting in the back as well. After about 15 minutes we had to get up and find someone to take our drink order, even though the waiter had come in and talked to the other couple. Finally ordered food and drinks. 3 beers and 3 orders of boiled shrimp. Received our beers. After another 25 minutes or so still no shrimp and no service in the back, we decided to just finish our beers and leave. Apparently the person who took our order didn’t know he was supposed to bring it out as well? Really?

By far the freshest & best oysters in San Antonio! Incredibly fast, knowledgeable & amazing service. Top it all off with the coldest beer around. Dry Dock Oyster bar is DEFINITELY my top seafood restaurant choice! And the new owner Noel is bringing the old boat out of the 80's and into the now. Can't wait to see what amazing things are coming to Dry Dock!!!

Worst experience ever. From being ignored to everything being wrong even when issues arose and they were notified. Didn’t seem to affect their poor service, in fact it got worse the more aware they became. Can’t speak on the food, since we only got warm beer after an hourlong visit of monumental letdowns and promises from more than 4 employees. Their loss, we had a $200+ meal plan but they lost a potential regular forever. I highly recommend you treat yourself to Pappadeaux’s for great seafood and impeccable service.

What an awesome experience! My wife and I stopped in on Friday on our trip back home. I ordered the fisherman's plate, and my wife had the blackened flounder. Both were so good. We had the best waitress (dont remember her name. Blonde with a rose tattoo on her arm). She kept the cold beer coming and was very attentive. She was a Rockstar. We sat out on the patio and the whole experience was incredible. Especially in this crazy time, I didn't expect much but was pleasantly surprised. Thank you for such a great evening! We will definitely be back the next time we're in town.

I ordered the blackened flounder with shrimp, steamed veggies, and dirty rice (take out).The food was great! When I asked what he would recommend ordering, Re was very knowledgeable about the menu. Even though it was almost closing time, him and Josh took great care of me. Next time I'm traveling in the San Antonio area, I'll be back!

Greeted with a smile from server. A to-go order. Fish sandwich (BIG piece of fish) , side of gumbo, Sweet Ice Tea. All tasted great. I plan to go back!

First time there. It's been there for 32 years. Great food and service! We're going back for sure.

Really Good tasty sea food. The all you can eat will leave you stuffed. Pace yourself. The beer is ice cold. The staff is very caring and extremely attentive. The seafood gumbo is to die for! Been coming here for over 20 years. It's a Great restaurant.

All you can eat shrimp is the only reason we come here! You can't beat the special, especially when there are other specials on beer and appetizers at the same time. Service has improved significantly. Servers made sure we were well taken care of and that our plates and cups were never empty. Shrimp tasted fresh and were seasoned very well. The fries and hush puppies were also perfectly crispy, not soggy or drenched in oil, and tasted so yummy!

All you can eat shrimp 3 different ways. 3pm to close. Tuesdays and Thursday

Not bad, passed this place many a time in last 20+years. Food was really decent. Poor workers, only 2 employees trying to accommodate 4 different parties on a Monday night. A little overwhelmed BUT they rocked it pretty good. Give them a try 😉

Such a great place. Nothing pretentious. Just great seafood. I always tell my friends it's like a bar, but a seafood bar. Staff is a lot of fun and so are most of the patrons. Always a great time. I always get the raw oysters and steamed shrimp.

This is an awesome place to just hang out. They shuck the oysters right in front of you. Great place to socialize. May have to come here every Sunday.

The oysters are great! Chicken fried steak was mediocre, still good but not memorable in flavor. The wait was pretty long though on a weekday. It didnt seem packed but I dont think they have enough staff. It took a while for someone to greet us at the table, then we ordered some drinks, water and a beer. That took well over 10minutes for just waters to arrive. Beer was forgotten. Once the food was out and eaten, it took a long while before someone came to bring the check. Once paid for, we waited 15+ minutes for our card to come back so we could leave.

This place is amazing the owner will go out of her to make changes to an item just to make you happy. Good seafood and always fresh. And the staff is amazing too. I'm from fl and missed great seafood at great prices and this places reminds me so much of home

Absolute garbage food, not worth the price compared to any other seafood restaurant. Zero authenticity of just about everything on there menu! Customer beware there food might get you sick, you can simply walk in and see, feel and taste the low quality of environment and food.
